George Karanikas
President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE)
George Karanikas was born in Edessa, Greece in 1956. He studied Business Administration and Marketing.
George Karanikas’ involvement with collective representation of traders began in the mid-1990s. In 2000 he was elected President of Edessa Traders’ Association and President of the Federation of Traders’ Associations of Central and Western Macedonia.
He was first elected to the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship in 2006 and was nominated for -and subsequently assumed- the position of the Vice President.
He served as the Secretary General of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) from 2009 to 2018.
Since November 2018 he has been President of ESEE.
He is acting Vice-President of Directors of the Manpower Employment Organization (OAED). Additionally, he has served as Vice-President of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (ESC).
