More than 30 years of experience in the Financial Institutions space, where he held senior and C-level positions. As co-Founder of Hellenic Finance, was involved in all major Greek NPL transactions.
During his as CEO of Piraeus Bank Group, the bank was transformed into the leading banking institution in Greece (from 4th to 1st place). Worked for 14 years at National Bank of Greece, as CRO, CFO/COO, and Deputy CEO. He led the bank’s privatization, operational restructuring and international expansion, including the $5.5bn acquisition of Finansbank in Turkey. Prior to NBG, was Partner at KPMG London and Athens in the corporate finance division.
Chartered Financial Analyst, CFA Institute, Chartered Accountant, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). Holds an MBA from the London Business School, an MSc in Information Engineering (Computer Science) from The City University, and BEng & MEng in Electronics Engineering (major Computer Science) degrees from the University of Patras.
