Dr. Vassilios Papantoniou
President BoD, Hellenic Technology of Robiotics
Vassilios Papantoniou studied Mechanical Engineering in University of Patras and got his diploma in 1983, he continued his studies in the University of Brussels in the field of robotics and automation (MSc in 1985 and PhD in 1989).
He worked for a while (1991- 1992) as a research fellow in MIT USA in the leg robotics laboratory under professor Marc Raibert and as a visiting fellow in the robotics lab of the Nagoya University in Japan under professor T. Fukuda.
His professional experience started in Cybernetic Technology SA Belgium where he worked first as R & D Project Coordinator and later as R & D Director from 1992 to 1998 in various projects namely Brite-Euram CR 1156, Brite Euram CR 1179, Brite Euram CR 1651, and Brite Euram 5121.
Ever since (1998 – today) he is the chairman of the board for the company in Greece, Hellenic Technology of Robotics (HTR) where he handled various projects such as ACTS AC216, IST 10116, ESA: ANEMO GSTP 18830/05/NL/PA, ESA: DUSTER 4000107493 / AWE 4000112936 / PREDATOR 120270 / EMRS / RAPID among others.
Vassilios Papantoniou was born on February 15 of 1960, he is married, and lives in Greece.
