Ioannis Katsoyiannis
Professor of Environmental Technology & Director of the Institute of Sustainable Water Management and Water Law of EPLO
Ioannis Katsoyiannis is a Full Professor at the department of Chemistry of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Director of the Institute of Sustainable Water Management and Water Law of the European Public Law Organization and President of the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy. He is an expert in water and wastewater treatment technologies, water reuse and circular economy. He was recipient of prestigious international fellowships, such as from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the IKY, the DAAD, and the SNF. He is the author of more than 100 research papers, which have received more than 8300 citations. He is scientific responsible in several research projects with an accumulative budget of more than 2.5 million euros and has been invited more than 30 times to give lectures worldwide in international conferences. Professor Katsoyiannis used to be the President of the Association of Greek Chemists, and since 2022 is serving as an academic advisor for the Onassis Foundation.
