Spyros Sapounas graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he completed both a Master’s degree and a PhD with distinction. He specialized in Endocrinology and Diabetes, gaining substantial clinical experience. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as Director of Preparedness and Response at the Hellenic CDC (EODY) and later as its Vice President. He subsequently became Vice President and is currently President of the National Organization for Medicines (EOF). His work focuses on advancing public health, regulating pharmaceuticals, and promoting medical science.
