Dimitris Bampalis
Internist-Intensivist-Emergency Medicine specialist, Medical Director of the Emergency Department of Larissa General Hospital “Koutlibaneio and Triantafyllio”
Dimitris Bampalis is a Medical Doctor, Internist specialized in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. After his basic studies at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he specialized in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete. He has been working as a specialist physician at the National Health System since 2010, initially at the Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Larissa and since 2019 as Medical Director of the Emergency Department (ED) at the same Hospital. He has served as a member of the Board of the Hellenic Society of Emergency Medicine (2022-2025). His main research interests, always from the perspective of an active clinician, are mechanical respiratory support, infections in the ICU and the ED, patient triage, telemedicine and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Emergency Medicine and Primary Health Care.
