Thanasis Akalestos

Thanasis Akalestos is the Executive Director of the Hellenic Association of Medical and Biotechnological Products Enterprises (SEIV). He has extensive experience in strategy, public health, and innovation within the medtech and diagnostics sector. During his tenure at Roche Diagnostics Hellas, he developed and led the Medical Scientific Affairs & Healthcare Development function, integrating areas such as medical evidence, market access, health policy, strategic communications, and patient engagement. He has coordinated initiatives in fields including oncology, cardiology, gynecology, and infectious diseases, contributing to programs on screening, reimbursement, and digital health. He holds a BSc in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a MA in Strategic Communication and Public Relations from Deree, The American College of Greece.
