Michail Bletsas

Governor of National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece

Michail Bletsas has served as Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority since April 2024, actively contributing to the development of the national cybersecurity strategy. He is a Research Scientist and Director of Computing at the MIT Media Lab, where he has worked since 1996, overseeing the production, transmission, consumption, and storage of data. He was a core member of the technical and design team of the “One Laptop per Child” (OLPC) initiative, which created the pioneering and award-winning “XO” laptop. He is frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences and public forums. His research interests include network security, countering the systematic spread of disinformation, wireless networks, and the development of highperformance computing infrastructures for machine learning. In recent years, he has been extensively engaged in consulting on technology and technology policy. He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University
