
Ioanna Fanariotou
Head of the Managing Authority of “Western Greece” Programme
Ioanna Fanariotou is the Head of the Managing Authority of “Western Greece” Programme. Since joining the Managing Authority, she has been dealing with the management, monitoring, control and evaluation of Operational Programmes for the last 26 years. Prior to this, she held positions in the Academia and the Greek Forestry Service. She studied at the School of Forestry and Natural Environment of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Holds a master’s degree (M.Sc.) and a doctorate (PhD) in the field of Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Aberdeen in the U.K. Her primary goals are to maximize the social, environmental, and economic effects of the “Western Greece” Programme 2021-2027 by streamlining its management procedures and guaranteeing its accountability and transparency to the citizens in the Western Greece Region.
