Sotirios Papakonstantinou

Sotirios Papakonstantinou is Head of Risk Management at Optima Bank S.A., with more than 20 years of experience in banking, risk management, internal audit, regulatory reporting and governance. He has held senior roles in Greek banking institutions, including Attica Bank and the Cooperative Bank of Karditsa, leading work on ICAAP, ILAAP, stress testing, IFRS 9, supervisory reporting, operational and market risk, internal control and regulatory engagement. He has also represented his institutions in working groups and committees of the Hellenic Bank Association. Sotirios holds an MSc in Banking, an MBA, an MSc in Computer Science and a BS in Computer Science. He is a Certified Internal Control Auditor and a member of professional bodies including HIIA, ISACA, the Economic Chamber of Greece and GARP. His expertise combines risk governance, regulatory compliance, analytics and practical implementation in financial institutions.
