Andreas Manesis
Founder of Manessis Travel SA & AMA Hotels & Villa Entrepreneur in the travel industry, founder of Manessis Travel SA and AMA Hotels & Villas with hotels in Eretria, Santorini, Messinia
He graduated from the BCA college (economic field) and the National Drama School and start a journey into the art world. He even went so far as to have a small role, at the age of 18, in Michael Cacoyannis’ famous “Iphigenia” and in the film “The Greek Tycoon” about the life of Aristotle Onassis with Anthony Quinn and Jacqueline Bisset, but as he admits, the life of an actor was not for him. At a time when Greeks begin to discover excursions and the travel market was opening up, he started working as a tour leader in organized tours, from the last years of high school. This tinder him understanding better the “what a traveler wants”, and somehow in the 80s, he went from being a tour leader to organizing and operating a travel agency.
Self-made as an entrepreneur, he opened new paths in the tourism industry and won the trust of Greek people with innovative travel products, with excellent value for money, attentive service and attention to detail.
Manessis Travel is considered one of the leading travel agencies in Greece, which stands upright no matter how much the crisis and the state plagues everyone and everything and still continues as sales are rising every year and investments in hotel industry are being made (owner of Amaronda Hotel & SPA in Eretria, AMANI villas and MESSINA RESORT and BUCA SANDY BEACH holiday hotels in Messinia region and CASA SUNSHA HYBRID in Santorini).
In recognition of this hard work, in 2024, Manessis Travel welcomed the honorable initiative of ELTA (Hellenic Post) to proceed with a special stamp issue for Manessis’ 36 years in the tourism industry.
