Christos Farmakis
Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Graduate of Ioannidios (High) School of Piraeus.
Graduate of Sociology and Economics at the University of Provence (France) and holder of a Master’s degree from the University of Paris X, France.
He is also a graduate of the Commercial Affairs Branch of the National School of Public Administration in Athens (1987-1989).
At the Foreign Ministry in Athens he served in: – in the Directorate for Energy,- in the Directorate for the Bilateral Economic Relations with the EU countries, – in the Directorate for the bilateral Economic Relations with countries of Asia, Africa & Latin America and – in the Directorate for International Economic Organizations
He served as Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office in the Embassies of Greece in:
Germany, Serbia, Hungary, Albania, Kosovo, Croatiα and since Mars 2020 in Russia until Oct, 2022.
