Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens-EKPA. She is a graduate of the School of Dentistry and Medicine of the University of Athens. Fellow of the Government Scholarship Foundation in Social Psychiatry in England. He was a Consultant to the World Health Organization on Mental Health and Drugs in Geneva. He was President of the Organization against Drugs-OKANA for 2 terms 1997-1996 and 2010-2013. Between 1999-2004 he was a Member of the European Parliament and member of the Committee, Public Health-Environment-Consumer Protection and the Committee, Civil Liberties-Justice-Home Affairs. Representative of the European Parliament on the Board of Directors of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control-E.C.D.C., in Stockholm and Vice-President between 2004-2008. She has served as Vice President in the Management Board of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. From 1994 until today he represents the European Parliament in the Management Board of the European Union Drug Agency-EUDA in Lisbon. Member of scientific Councils and Committees in Greece and abroad, speaker in at least 1.000 speeches and authored work with 220 publications in foreign and Greek medical journals and 20 entries in books.
