Dimitris Tsesmetzoglou
CEO, Howden Hellas & Cyprus
Dimitris began his career in the London Insurance Market in 1998 at Windsor Professional Indemnity, where his responsibilities included the development of business in Greece and Cyprus. During 2002 Dimitris moved to BMS International and launched the BMS office in Athens (2003). In September 2006 Dimitris led the successful Management Buy Out of the BMS Hellas office from the BMS Group.
During 2019 he completed the acquisition of Piraeus Brokers SA, through a strategic alliance with the Howden Broking Group, which in 2020 become the majority shareholder of Howden Ηellas. Since, he has initiated and concluded four major acquisitions of insurance intermediaries, placing the company to the top, as the largest corporate broker in Greece.
Dimitris holds an MBA in Maritime Management from the University of Leicester and a Bachelors’ of Science in Insurance and Investment from the City Business School, where a member of the advisory Board for the undergraduate programs in Finance, Investment & Insurance.
He is married and the father of three.
