Kosmas E. Verigos MD, PHD
Chairman, Department of Radiation Oncology and Stereotactic Radiosurgery at 401 GSNA
Kosmas Verigos completed his basic studies at the Medical School of the University of Thessaloniki. As a Military Doctor, he also graduated from the Military School of Corps Officers, continuing his activity in the ranks of the Army.
During his residency in Radiation Oncology he served at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and at the “Metaxas” Cancer Hospital.
After completing his residency, and during years 2003-2006, he was trained in a variety of specialized and modern methods of Radiation Oncology (Radiosurgery, Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS, SBRT), Brachytherapy, IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, Photodynamics, etc.) at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), Fox Chace Cancer Center Philadelphia (USA), Thomas Jefferson Cancer Center Philadelphia (USA), Stanford Sunnyvale (USA) and Vecenza, Italy.
He holds a PhD from the University of Athens, with an increasing number of scientific publications in international and Greek journals and presentations in international and Greek conferences.
After his return to Greece, he served at Radiation Therapy – Oncology Department at the 401 GSNA, Scientific Associate at the Radiation Therapy – Oncology Department of the “ATTIKON” Hospital, at the Radiation Therapy – Oncology Department of the “IASO” Hospital and Scientific Manager at the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery Unit of the “IATROPOLIS” Center.
At present time he is the director of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Stereotactic Radiosurgery at 401 GSNA and a partner in the Radiotherapy – Oncology Department of the “IASO” Hospital.
