Alexandros Kaliontzoglou holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in information systems security. He joined the Bank of Greece in 2009 and has worked in the areas of Payment System Oversight and Macroprudential Policy. He is currently the head of the Digital Finance Supervision Division in the Supervised Institutions Inspection Directorate, supervising the application of innovation in financial services, in areas such as crypto-assets, artificial intelligence and open banking. He is the head of the Bank of Greece Innovation Hub and a member of the Regulatory Sandbox Operations Team.
