Ioannis Vroutsis
Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, MP for Cyclades New Democracy party
He was born in 1963. He studied Economics, in the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens and earned his post-graduate degree from Panteion University of Athens. He speaks English and worked for the private sector and the Ministry of Finance.
He has been elected MP with the New Democracy party (N.D.) since September 2007.
He served as:
Person in charge of Labour and Social Affairs for N.D. party (14/12/2009 – 8/1/2011).
Assistant person in charge of Financial Affairs for N.D. party (10/1/2011 – 11/4/2012).
Minister of Labour, Social Security and Welfare (21/6/2012 – 25/01/2014).
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Labour of the EU (EPSCO) (Hellenic Presidency 1st Semester 2014).
Parliamentary Spokesperson for N.D. party (February 2015-November 2016).
Person in charge of Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity for N.D. party (November 2016 – June 2019).
Since July 8, 2019 he is the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the N.D. government.
