Alexandros Mentes holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering (1998), a Doctoral Thesis (Phd) in Water Resources Management / Water Demand Management (2002) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and a Master degree in Business Administration (EMBA-2017) from the International Hellenic University (IHU). Twenty one (21) years of experience in design and construction of hydraulic works and modeling of water and sewerage networks, water resources management, water demand management, economics of water resources, urban water pricing. He has worked for Thessaloniki’s General Organization for Land Improvements (GOEB). He has participated as a research assistant in twenty (20) EU and National Research Projects and as a scientific coordinator in a co funded research program named “Smart infrastructure for remote metering of water consumption and management of water demand – SmartWater”. He has a total of twenty-eight (28) articles published in scientific journals and conferences and he is a reviewer/evaluator in two (2) scientific journals. Visiting lecturer (2003-2010) for three (3) undergraduate courses at AUTh and University of Thessaly (UTH) in the area of his expertise.

Since 2006 he is working for Thessaloniki Water Supply & Sewerage Co. SA (EYATH SA). He has received two (2) grants from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and two (2) Famous Mentions from the Board of Directors (BoD) of EYATH SA. Today he is Director of Strategic Planning, Hydraulic Works & Development. He remained for three (3) years as Head of Strategic Planning & Project Management Office and for seven (7) years as a head of the Design Department of EYATH SA.
