Andreas Gkrekas is CEO of ARAG SE, Greek Branch and member of the Legal Protection Committee of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies.
He has over 20 years of experience in the Greek Insurance industry. As a qualified lawyer specializing in Insurance Law and Law of Restitution he has significant court appearance experience, mostly representing insurers. His professional background includes roles within a Greek insurance company (Fire and Civil Liability Department) and a law firm operating within the Lloyd’s of London market specializing in professional liability.
His latest roles were in the legal department of a multinational insurance company in Greece managing large / complex P&C claims in litigation and a major insurance intermediation company as Legal Counsel and DPO with a focus on regulatory compliance and IDD.
Further experience includes participation in due diligence processes within the Greek insurance market and management of run – off portfolios for specialized companies and insurance liquidators as well as conducting claim audits for Lloyd’s coverholders.
He is graduate of UK Universities in Law (LLB) with master’s degree (LLM) in European and International Law and in Political Science (BA Hons).
