Deputy Minister for Climate Crisis & Civil Protection

Dr Christos Triantopoulos is the Deputy Minister for Climate Crisis & Civil Protection and a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Magnesia (2023). He studied Economics in the University of Crete and he completed his Master Degree in European and International Studies at the University of Athens. He holds a PhD in Comparative Political Economy (AUEB), and he completed a part of his studies in the London School of Economics, with scholarship. He was a Research Fellow at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research. Moreover, he was employed as Scientific Associate for Economic Affairs in the Hellenic Parliament and the Hellenic Fiscal Council. He served as General Secretary of Economic Policy in the Ministry of Finance (2019-2021). He served as Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister for State Aid and Natural Disaster Recovery and Chairman of the Government Committee for State Aid (2021-2023), which coordinates and ensures the implementation of the institutional framework for state assistance and natural disaster recovery issues. He is married to Valia Charontaki and father of two daughters.
