Dimitrios D. Vergados is a Professor, Director of the M.Sc. Programme “Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies”, Director of the “Digital Culture, Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT) and Advanced Digital Technologies and Services Lab” Deputy Head of the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus. His research interests are in the areas of Computer and Communication Networks, Telecommunications Systems, Wireless and Mobile Communications, Internet of Things (IoT) and Advanced Digital Technologies, Smart Technologies, Cloud Computing, Image Processing and Analysis, Sustainable Ecosystems and Smart Cities, Management of Digital Cultural Content, Intellectual Property and Personal Data Protection, Regulatory Issues. He has several publications in journals, books and conference proceedings. He has served as a committee member and evaluator in national and international organizations and agencies. He has also served as a chair, technical program committee member (TPC) and reviewer in several international conferences and co-editor, member of the editorial board, and reviewer in several international journals
