Dimitris Tsiodras

Dimitris Tsiodras, 

Member of the European Parliament (MEP) 

Dimitris Tsiodras was born in Manari, Arcadia, in 1959. He graduated from the 1st High School of Tripoli, studied Political Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and pursued postgraduate studies (MA) in International Relations at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University in the United States. He worked for 27 years as a journalist in some of Greece’s leading media outlets and has consistently focused on issues related to politics, international relations, and European affairs.

From 2019 to 2024, he served as Director of the Press Office of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He is also the author of two books on Europe. His first book, “Europatriotism or Ethnocentrisms”, was published in 2017. His most recent work (2024, Minos Publications), titled “European Integration: The Adventures of a Vision”, outlines key milestones in the course of the European Union.

In 2024, he was elected Member of the European Parliament with New Democracy and joined the European People’s Party Group, maintaining a strong presence in key policy and legislative areas.

He serves as a member of the following committees:
Committee on the Environment, Climate, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI),
Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO),
Delegation for relations with the Arabian Peninsula (DARP),
Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China (D-CN).

He also serves as a substitute member of:
Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE),
Delegation for relations with India (D-IN).
