
Dr. Efthimios Bakogiannis
General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, A. Professor
Efthimios Bakogiannis is a Greek Urban Planner- Transport Engineer and an Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Athens. He currently serves as General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment at the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. He studied Rural and Surveying Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and completed his PhD in the field of integrated urban and transport planning. His academic expertise focuses on “Urban Planning with an emphasis on Sustainable Mobility policies.” He has participated in numerous studies and research programs funded by the European Union or national resources (ministries and municipalities), collaborating with more than 50 institutions. He has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Urban Transport Organization and as President of its Technical Council, President of the Metropolitan Agency for the Redevelopment and Management of Protected Areas of Attica, Director at the Ministry of Productive Reconstruction, and a member of various local government bodies.
