Evangelos Dairentzis

First Counsellor for Economic & Commercial Affairs, Head of the Commercial Section, Embassy of Greece in Cairo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Born in Serres, he studied at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is a graduate of the National School of Public Administration.. He joined the Economic and Commercial Affairs branch in 1994.

He has served abroad in various Greek diplomatic missions, as the Embassies of Greece in Damascus (1996–2000) and Rome (2000–2005), and as Head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassies of Greece in Tripoli (2006–2010), Cairo (2010–2016 and again since 2024), and The Hague (2020–2024). He also served at the Consulate General of Greece in Erbil (2018–2020).

In Athens, he served at the Ministry of Economy (1994–1996) and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005–2006 and 2016–2018).

Since September 2024, he has been serving as Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Greece in Cairo.

He speaks English, French, Turkish and Arabic.
