George Karavias

Mr G. Karavias is a broker and the CEO of Karavias Underwriting Agency S.A. Coverholder at Lloyd’s.
He has held senior executive positions at the Reed Stenhouse group, while also worked in the U.K. London market (1957-1983) and Loyds, as a Broker for specialized risks, particularly in the artwork insurance sector.
He has 40 years of professional experience in the field of insurance services.
He is a founding member and former president of Hellenic Insurance Brokers Association (HIBA) and he has served as president of the association for 8 consecutive years from 2008 since 2016.
As president of the association, he has negotiated issues of the Insurance Sector along with the competent bodies of the Ministry of Finance, the Supervisory Authority and the association of the Insurance Companie of Greece.
In 2023, Mr G. Karavias was declared honorary president of HIBA.
