Ioannis Kostopoulos

Dr. Ioannis Kostopoulos was born in Athens. He is the CEO and co-founder of SAMMY, a technology company operating in the field of maritime tourism, specializing in the digital transformation of tourist ports and marinas, as well as in enhancing the travel experience in maritime or coastal destinations.
He represents the company at the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Hellenic-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the committee of the Hellenic Tourism Technology Cluster (TourismTech). He has also been a speaker at international events related to the Blue Economy, maritime tourism, and digital technologies.
Mr. Kostopoulos is also an active member of the Greek and European innovation ecosystem, serving as an expert on the National Committee for the Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS-3) in the Tourism-Culture sector, a mentor in the Orange Grove program supported by the Dutch Embassy, a mentor in the CapsuleT program of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, and a mentor and evaluator in the Blue Growth program, among others.
Mr. Kostopoulos holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
