John Gekas is a Managing Director at Accenture’s Data & AI Athens CoE (Center of Excellence).
During his tenure with Accenture, John has been leading a Global Industrial Data Science function, currently housing approx. 50 highly-specialized team members, and focusing primarily on the Energy, Natural Resources and Utilities markets. He carries profound experience in implementing and adopting large-scale Artificial Intelligence solutions that help Fortune 500 organizations optimize their operational processes, achieving considerable efficiencies and increasing their profit margins throughout their Digital Transformation journey.
Over the course of the past 3 years, John has also been co-leading Accenture’s global Space Innovation practice, combining the firm’s collective Data & AI expertise with the significant value potential offered by the fast-growing New Space economy.
His academic background includes Economics and Business Administration studies in the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), as well as extensive postgraduate studies in Computer Science (MSc and PhD), at the University of Essex (UK). His academic research work has been published in several academic journals and research conference proceedings.
He is married and a father of two.
