Kostas Pilaftsis
Business Development Manager, Planetek Hellas
A former Colonel of the Hellenic Air Force, enlisting 25 years of progressive operational experience in space programs for Defence & Security, in Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance and in Arms Control & Verification. Since more than a decade now, he is professionally active, as a subject-matter expert, for space activities and for geospatial intelligence. He has functioned both, in support of the public sector (i.e first CEO mandated to initialize a Hellenic Space Agency), and in business activities of the private sector (EO, Space, ICT industries) in Greece. In parallel to his vocational training, he wields a MA in Diplomatic Studies (Westminster University of London) and a MSc in Geoinformatics (National Technical University of Athens). Ιn Planetek Hellas he coordinates the development of meaningful business in the context of national and European Defence & Security activities. Kostas remains a passionate advocate for human access, operation and presence in space.
