Financial Inspector, Ηead of the Directorate General of Integrity & Accountability, National Transparency Authority

Maria Konstantinidou has been a Financial Inspector and Head of the Directorate General of Integrity & Accountability at the National Transparency Authority since 2019. The Directorate General is responsible for developing and strengthening the National Internal Control System for the public sector, including the development and implementation of the risk management function across all public sector entities. In this capacity, she has played a significant role in advancing the national framework for internal control, risk management, integrity and transparency.
She is a law graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holds postgraduate degrees in European Law and European Policy, and graduated with distinction from the National School of Public Administration. She has held senior positions at the Ministry of Finance and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), including responsibilities for auditing programmes and projects financed by EU funds (EDEL) and has served as Director of Internal Audit at AADE. She has extensive experience in internal and external audit and has represented Greece in European and international fora and institutions.
She has contributed to the design of professional certification programmes at EKDDA, including those for Public Sector Internal Auditors, Risk Managers and Integrity Consultants. She is a member of the Hellenic Institute of Internal Auditors and PA.SYS.S.DI.K.
