Maria Petala
Board member of EYATH SA
Ms. Maria Petala holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and a PhD from the Faculty of Engineering of AUTH, with a specialization in environmental engineering, wastewater reclamation and reuse. Since 2013, she has been a member of the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering and Planning at the Department of Civil Engineering of AUTH, and has participated in nationally and EU-funded research projects. Her scientific interests include water quality, wastewater and solid waste management, wastewater-based epidemiology, water and wastewater treatment methods, and the environmental impact assessment of wastewater disposal. She has been an independent, non-executive member of the Board of EYATH S.A. and a member of its Audit Committee since 2020. She is actively engaged in issues related to sustainable development, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, as well as corporate social responsibility.
