
Panagiotis Zaragkas
Ex Minister Counsellor for Eco-Commercial Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Takis Zaragkas is a senior Greek diplomat, former General Counselor of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Born in Patras, he studied Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and pursued postgraduate studies in European Integration at the Europa Institut of the University of Cologne in Germany.
He joined the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1990, following his studies at the National School of Public Administration, specializing in Economic Diplomacy. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held key diplomatic postings across Europe, serving as Head of the Economic and Commercial Offices at the Greek Consulate in Marseille and at the Greek Embassies in Budapest, Nicosia, Tirana, Paris and Rome.
In addition to his international assignments, Mr. Zaragkas has held senior positions within the Ministry in Athens, including Head of the Department of Strategic Economic Planning and Head of Cabinet of the Secretary General for International Economic Relations. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for the role of economic diplomacy as a central pillar of foreign policy.
He is fluent in German and has a good command of English, French and Italian.Shape
