Pantelis Tzortzakis
Vice Chairman, Executive Member of the BoD, Hellenic Development Bank
Pantelis Tzortzakis has carved an illustrious career spanning business administration, technology, academia, and leadership. Beginning his academic journey at Brooklyn College, New York, he earned a master’s degree in computer science, laying the groundwork for a transformative career. Founding Forthnet AE, Pantelis Tzortzakis propelled the company to prominence in alternative fixed telephony and pay TV, earning a listing on the Athens Stock Exchange.
As CEO of Forthnet from 1995 to 2010, Pantelis not only steered the company through significant growth but also played a pivotal role in establishing the NOVA satellite pay TV platform, solidifying Forthnet’s industry standing. His influence extended globally, evidenced by roles on the Supervisory Board of NETIA SA in Poland and chairmanship of the Board of Directors of SEPE in Greece.
His commitment to public service manifested in roles such as a special adviser to the Prime Minister and Deputy Minister of e-Government. From September 2012 to May 2013, he served as the coordinator responsible for overseeing initiatives related to innovation and public contracts within the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport, and Networks.
In 2023, Pantelis was unanimously elected as an external member of the Board of Directors of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently, as the Executive Vice President at the Hellenic Development Bank – HDB since November 2019, Tzortzakis brings extensive experience, exemplifying unwavering commitment to innovation and public service.
