Mrs. Sophia Kounenaki-Efraimoglou is a prominent Greek entrepreneur and institutional leader. She serves as the President of the Foundation of the Hellenic World USA and as the Executive Vice President of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, and President of the Cultural Center “Hellenic Cosmos” of the Foundation of the Hellenic World. She is elected First Vice President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), serves as Vice President of the Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association, and is President of Lavipharm S.A.
She is Vice President of the U.S.–Greece Trade and Investment Council, a Member of the Board of Directors of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member of the UN Global Compact, a Member of the General Council of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of ALBA Association.
She led the creation of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Code and participates in the Hellenic Corporate Governance Council. She founded the companies Vivodi Telecom S.A. and Fortius Finance Investment Services S.A., and for many years she taught at the University of West Attica. She holds degrees in Philosophy, Business Administration, and Information Technology, speaks three languages, and is the mother of three children. She has received numerous distinctions for her entrepreneurial, social, and cultural contribution.
