Spyros Dritsas, MD, MSc, PhD, is a Consultant General Surgeon at Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens and has served as Head of Health Policy of the Hellenic Left Alliance (ELAS) since June 2026.
He has extensive clinical and academic experience in general, minimally invasive and colorectal surgery, including advanced surgical training in the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Surgical Society.
He has a longstanding record of professional representation and involvement in healthcare administration, having served as President of the Residents’ Association at Evangelismos Hospital and as a Board Member of the Athens–Piraeus Hospital Doctors’ Association (EINAP).
In his current political role, he contributes to the development of healthcare policy proposals focusing on strengthening Greece’s National Health System, primary healthcare, prevention, equitable access to healthcare services and improved working conditions for healthcare professionals.
