
Stavros Kafounis
President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce & Entrepreneurship
Stavros Kafounis is the President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship. He was born and raised in central Athens in 1969. He graduated from Athens College and was admitted first in his class to the Athens University of Economics and Business, where he studied while simultaneously working.
During his first year at university, he founded his first company in the field of spare parts for commercial vehicles. Since then, he has established and managed companies in various sectors, such as electrical appliances, baby products, and real estate, with subsidiaries in Cyprus, Romania, and Turkey and a presence in eight countries.
In addition to his business endeavors, Stavros Kafounis has been actively involved in the representation of entrepreneurship. In 2005, he was first elected as a board member of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, later serving as Deputy Chairman of the Commercial Department and Second Vice President. He has held positions on several boards of associations and institutions and has represented Greek commerce in EuroCommerce. He previously served as Secretary General of the Athens Traders Association, and in 2017, he assumed the presidency of the Association with a renewed strategic vision. Between 2018 and 2024, he served as Vice President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship before assuming its presidency in December 2024.
