Takis Kakouris

Takis Kakouris is a Greek lawyer specializing in business law and law of commercial transactions, insurance and data protection law. He is currently legal counsel to Greek and foreign (re)insurers and intermediaries with a wide expertise on share acquisitions, portfolio transfers, distribution channels including bancassurance arrangements, corporate governance, licensing and regulatory compliance, data protection, drafting and interpretation of policy terms, outsourcing and other commercial contracts. He is also the DPO for a group of companies active in tourism. Previously, he worked for twenty years (partner) in a leading Greek law firm in Athens. He has been consistently recognized as a leading insurance lawyer in Greece by international legal directories. He has published various contributions and articles on insurance law issues. He is a graduate of the Law School of University of Athens, Erasmus University Rotterdam (Erasmus), Europa Institut of the University of Saarland (LL.M. European Law) and Cornell (LLM. Corporate). He speaks and works in English and German and he also speaks Italian.
