Dr. Eng. Triantafyllia (Rozy) Charitopoulou is a Chemist with a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the distinguished KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. She specializes in environmental management, solid and waste – water management, water resources, sustainable development, and circular economy. She has extensive research and administrative experience working with Universities, General Government bodies, local authorities, and private companies (KIT, University of the Aegean, MOU SA, Hellenic Recycling Agency-HRA/EOAN, Ministry of Environment and Energy, Municipalities of Kifissia and Athens). Her work focuses on promoting recycling, prevention, and green growth in urban ecosystems, as well as managing development programs.
Additionally, she was one of the founding members of the HSWMD (Hellenic Solid Waste Management Association) and serves as the Thematic Vice President for Alternative Management & Innovation for the 2024-2026 term. She has served in positions as Secretary General and Deputy Mayor for Environment in the
Municipality of Kifissia. Currently, she is a member of the MOU (Management Organization Unit of Development Programs) working in the Expert Team for Technical Support to beneficiaries in mountainous, disadvantaged, and island areas, while also participating in the Working Group for the negotiation of the new MFF (Multiannual Financial Framework) 2028-2034.
Her contribution in the Conference will be about the EU’s guidelines for Green Growth and Resilient Cities as the tool for designing sustainable circular cities and regions.
