Yianos Kontopoulos is Chief Executive Officer of Hellenic Exchanges-Athens Stock Exchange, and Athens Exchange Clearing House and Hellenic Central Securities Depository, its subsidiaries. Prior to joining ATHEX, he was CQS’ Chief Macro Strategist. Before CQS, he was the Global Head of Macro Strategy at UBS. He joined UBS in 2015 from Eurobank Group, where he was the Group CIO and the CEO of the Asset Management firm. Previously, he was an economist for Salomon Brothers, a top-rated Merrill Lynch Global FX Strategist and Research Manager, and a systematic hedge fund founder. Yianos Kontopoulos holds a PhD, MPhil and MA in Economics from Columbia University and an AB in Economics from Harvard College.
