Stathis Potamitis

Stathis Potamitis is a lawyer and managing partner of POTAMITISVEKRIS. He has a broadly based transactional practice with emphasis on acquisitions and business transformations. He has also worked on legislative and regulatory issues of the capital market, financing and international arbitration. As member of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Council he contributed to the Hellenic Corporate Governance Code and the drafting of specific good corporate governance practices for unlisted and family enterprises.
During the last decade he has been particularly concerned with restructuring and other pre-bankruptcy proceedings and with the regulation of the non-performing loans and credit market.
He is a member of the Review and Advisory Judge Co Project and national correspondent for the ELI Rescue of Business in Insolvency Law initiative. Stathis is an INSOL International fellow and has been elected a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy as well as member of the International Insolvency Institute. He participated in the group of experts convened by the European Commission for the preparation of the Restructuring and Second Chance Directive while he was the head of the committee that drafted the law on Debt Settlement and Second Chance.
He is a member of the Athens Bar Association and previously of the New York and Thessaloniki Bar Association/
