Dr Evi Sachini

Evi Sachini is the Director and member of EKT’s Administrative Board. During her tenure, EKT became an autonomous Organisation under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Governance, was institutionalised as a National Authority of the Hellenic Statistical System in the European Statistical System for Research, Development and Innovation Statistics (RDI), set up monitoring and valuation mechanisms for public policies, strengthened the link between the research and business sector and the exploitation of research results through actions and services, supported the digital transformation of content providers (Libraries, Archives, Museums), developed public science and culture data management systems in terms of technological competence and sustainability, and strengthened its international presence in networks and consortia.
In total, she has thirty years of experience in positions of responsibility in public interest bodies. She is a National Representative on the OECD’s Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP) and the Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP). She was the national representative in the EU for research and innovation, digital libraries and the exploitation of research results. She participated in the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religion for the Economics of Education and in the General Council of Libraries. She was Vice President of the National Hellenic Research Foundation Board, a member of the National Research and Technology Network (GRNET) Board and Vice President of the Free Open Source Software Company (EEL/LAK). She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NTUA, with studies in Economics.
