Gabriel Amitsis

Professor of Social Security Law and Director of the Social Administration Research Lab, University of West Attica

Gabriel Amitsis is an international lawyer and academic; first rank Professor of Social Security Law in the Department of Business Administration (Social Policy Unit) and Director of the Social Administration Research Lab (sarl.uniwa.gr) at the University of West Attica in Athens (uniwa.gr). He is the Coordinator of the Greek Chapter of the Academics Stand Against Poverty Network (academicsstand.org), a senior member of the European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions (enrsp.org) and the Vice-Chair of the Working Group for Housing Systems in Transition at  HOUSING EUROPE – The European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing (housingeurope.eu).

He is author and co-author of twenty books and has published in international edited books and journals, while he is the chief editor of the book series “The reform of the Social State”, published since 2016 by the leading Greek publisher PAPAZISIS. His most recent publication concerns a Chapter on Supplementary Pensions in Greece (G.
