A’ Vice President of the Advisory Board, Greek Patients Association – President of Butterfly Bone Health Society
Memi Tsekoura has worked in the field of Health for over 30 years. She started her social work at the Hellenic Association for the Support of Patients with Osteoporosis as a member of the Board. Since 2002 and up today she is the President of the Butterfly Bone Health Society.
She has extensive experience in the management of patients with chronic musculoskeletal diseases and she has managed to bring together the scientific community and patients through the various programs it has implemented as a Patients’ Association.
Under her Presidency, the Butterfly Bone Health Society became an official member of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the Rare Diseases Association of Greece, it has twice won the first world prize, taking first place among 285 countries for its action, and once the bronze award for supporting patients nationwide. Also, many scientific and epidemiological studies have been prepared and the epidemiological map for osteoporosis in Greece has been created. Finally, the Butterfly Bone Health Society has managed to participate in NSRF and International publications.
