Dr. Panagiotis Samartzis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Macedonia. His primary responsibility at AssetWise Capital Management involves leveraging artificial intelligence tools to identify investment opportunities and effectively manage portfolio risk. He has also served as the General Manager and Head of Research & Portfolio Management at AssetWise Capital Management, a research associate at the Discretionary Asset Management unit of Eurobank EFG, and a research associate at the Department of Banking and Financial Management at the University of Piraeus. He has participated in many research projects and data science competitions with significant distinctions. He holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics from the University of Piraeus, Greece, an MSc in Mathematics & Finance from Imperial College London, UK, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Greece. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
