'Occupational Pensions at the Heart of the European Savings and Investment Strategy'

The Hellenic Union of Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision (H.U.I.O.R.P.) and ethosEVENTS, in collaboration with the financial & business portal banks.com.gr, InsuranceWorld magazine, and the portal insuranceworld.gr, are organizing the 7th Occupational Insurance Conference. The event will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, as a physical event at the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, with a simultaneous online broadcast via LiveOn Events+.

Conference Objectives

The 7th Occupational Insurance Conference, titled “Occupational Pensions at the Heart of the European Savings and Investment Strategy“, aims to review the domestic and European developments within the institution of Occupational Insurance over the past year. Special emphasis will be placed on the pivotal role of occupational pension schemes (IORPs) within the framework of the new European strategy to mobilize savings, channel them into productive investments, and bolster the competitiveness of the European economy. Furthermore, the conference focuses on ensuring pension adequacy at an individual level and the long-term sustainability of the Insurance System at a macroeconomic level.

Through keynote speeches, empirical analyses, and in-depth presentations by distinguished Greek and international speakers, the conference seeks to provide participants with comprehensive insights into the key issues that shaped 2026 and those expected to impact the 2nd Pillar of Insurance. This is examined particularly through the lens of European policies aimed at mobilizing private savings and channeling them into the real economy. The ultimate goal of the conference is to provide a holistic approach to the philosophy, operational mechanisms, and role of Occupational Pension Funds as supplementary retirement vehicles and institutional investors, engaging all potential stakeholders in the labor market (employers and employees).

The Conference is addressed to the entire Occupational Insurance ecosystem, including labor market participants, employers and employees, institutional representatives of professional groups, and regulatory authorities. It also targets Asset Managers, Actuaries, Certified Public Accountants, Internal Auditors, and other experts currently active or seeking to enter the Occupational Retirement Provision (IORP) market.

The 7th Occupational Insurance Conference is expected to host a wide range of key stakeholders, including high-ranking Greek and international officials, distinguished guests, and representatives of social partners and institutional bodies.
