In a period of transformation for the global tourism industry, Greek tourism proves once again its resilience. With a 6.4% increase in passenger traffic at Greek airports in the first five months of the year and travel receipts recording a 17.4% rise in April 2025 compared to the same month last year, the sector’s outlook remains dynamic, laying the groundwork for even stronger performance in 2026.
However, the major challenge for Greek hotel businesses lies elsewhere: profit margins remain under pressure due to high operating costs, rising energy prices, inflationary pressures on raw materials and wages, as well as the increased demands of travelers for personalized, technologically advanced, and authentic hospitality experiences.
On the other hand, some destinations are gradually losing their momentum due to insufficient coordinated promotion, as well as the phenomenon of “overtourism,” which puts pressure on the quality of the services provided. The lack of value for money in smaller or saturated destinations, the limited support from municipal authorities, and the decrease in disposable income of European consumers due to inflation, are creating new dynamics for the country’s tourism map.
In this dynamic and multifaceted environment, the Greek Hospitality Awards 2025 return to highlight and reward the businesses leading the way. The institution, which this year marks 11 years of uninterrupted presence, has now established itself as a benchmark for the Greek hotel and tourism industry. This year’s event gains increased significance as it takes place just before WTM London 2025 – one of the largest international tourism exhibitions. The awards serve not only as recognition but also as a tool for commercial exploitation and competitive advantage for the winners.
This year’s #grha25 Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens hotel, in the presence of executives from the tourism sector, representatives of organizations, and media outlets, and will be simultaneously broadcast online through the LiveOn Expo Complex, the innovative 3D exhibition and conference center of LiveOn, the Digital Business Communication and Events Platform.
The Greek Hospitality Awards 2025 are once again held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).
The Special Advisor of the Greek Hospitality Awards is Mr. Haris Digridakis, CEO, Tourism Media & EVENTS – Radio Producer, Alpha Radio 989 – Economic Editor, Eleftheros Typos – Director, Tourismtoday.gr.
